In partnership with the City of Shreveport Office of Community Development, the Shreveport Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) offers free, professional, one-on-one counseling to Shreveport residents.
Our certified, professional financial counselors are available to work with any financial situation. Counseling appointments are free, and community members can access the service as many times as they’d like to meet their financial goals.

Our financial counselors are have been trained in a variety of financial topics and are prepared to discuss financial situations surrounding savings, credit, debt, legacy planning and banking.
Based on your personal needs, you and your counselor will create a plan of action, provide support, and have follow-up sessions to discuss your progress.

Your first appointment can be 60-90 minutes, but all following appointments will take an hour or less.
No. Our financial services are free to the public.
You can meet with your counselor as much as needed. We recommend meeting with your counselor at least three times to meet your financial goals.
